Bryan J. Branon is the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb) Regional Relationship Manager for the Americas and Principal of Branon\'s ADR. He is an international arbitrator, mediator and business development strategist whose career has focused on the intersection of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and public policy.
A former law clerk on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee and intern at the U.S. Court of International Trade and Irish Parliament, Bryan currently serves on the Tashkent International Arbitration Centre 45 \"TIAC45\" Steering Committee and has worked for the ADR Center, Rome, Italy (JAMS International) where he established the Afghanistan Center for Dispute Resolution (ACDR) and published an E.U. Parliament-commissioned study on the implementation of the 2008 E.U. Mediation Directive available at: https://www.europarl.europa.eu/RegData/etudes/etudes/join/2014/493042/IPOL-JURI_ET(2014)493042_EN.pdf. As the former Director, International and Regional Liaison at the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and its International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), Bryan helped establish the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR) and launched the International Mediation Institute (IMI).
Throughout his career Bryan has held numerous leadership posts within volunteer bar associations including the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb) North America Branch (NAB) (Board of Directors, YMG Steering Committee, Seattle Chapter Chair), the Federal Bar Association (FBA) (Chair, Alternative Dispute Resolution Section, Vice-Chair, Diversity and Inclusion Committee), and the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Dispute Resolution (Council, Inaugural Fellow, Advocate for the ABA, Chair, Young Professionals Committee). He is currently a member of the insurance Defense Research Institute \"DRI\" Center for Law and Public Policy Diversity in ADR Working Group whose objective is to account and increase the number of diverse arbitrators and mediators serving the insurance industry.
Bryan graduated with a B.S. in Political Science and a minor in Journalism and Mass Communication from St. Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont and earned his J.D. and mediator certification from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and its Kukin Program for Conflict Resolution in New York, New York. He is licensed to practice in Washington, D.C.
Bryan frequently lectures, publishes and consults on diversity, equity and inclusion, international ADR systems design, ADR strategy, procedure and contract clause considerations.
